Paradox Interactive announced this week that Harebrained Schemes‘ Battletech will be released on April 24th. Players who wish to preorder the first turn based Battletech game in 20 years should set aside US$39.99.

A return to form for the long running ‘Mech franchise, Battletech will let fans control the destiny of their own mercenary company as they engage in tactical, turn based combat with other ‘Mech lances and attempt to keep their ‘Mechwarriors happy (and alive).

According to the latest story trailer, as the campaign evolves, the player will side with a deposed ruler who’s trying to retake control of her noble house, and who will offer us honor or money for our services (presumably that will be an ingame choice).
