Looks like CRPG fans are in luck this year, as Beamdog seems to be working on a Planescape: Torment re-release. The Canadian based developer has already released enhanced editions of many classic games (including Baldur’s Gate and its sequel, as well as Icewind Dale) so we expect a quality job. A countdown website is in place (with just three days to go in the clock) and the official Beamdog Twitter account has been posting puns related to Planescape: Torment‘s setting, characters and themes.
If that wasn’t enough proof, a beta tester decided to post some screenshots from the upcoming Enhanced Edition, showcasing the game’s title screen, as well as a gameplay shot.
This news comes less than a month after the release of Torment: Tides of Numenera, inXile Entertainment’s excellent spiritual successor to the Black Isle Studios classic.
