Blasphemous is getting a Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night crossover that will be out tomorrow as part of the Strife and Ruin free update. I haven’t played Blasphemous yet, but Bloodstained is one of my favorite games of 2019, so this can only be a good thing.

Miriam (the protagonist of Bloodstained‘s main campaign) will enter the world of Cvstodia, and the Penitent One (Blasphemous‘ protagonist) will have to help her, collecting shards in order to repair the portal that will send her back home. Of course, this means players will have to survive dangerous traps and challenging platforming courses, but I’m told that there’s a special reward waiting for those who manage to help Miriam.

If that wasn’t enough, the Strife and Ruin update will also add a Boss Rush mode (unlocked after completing Blasphemous‘ campaign for the first time) and a Demake Area that can be found in a secret location, and will let us enjoy an 8-bit take on Blasphemous, complete with new mechanics, visuals and an all-new boss fight at the end.
