Smells like thick cigar smoke and cheap booze, the sort of stuff a detective might be surrounded with… Could this be an indication of what’s to come? Oh yes, you can bet it is, because today is finally the day we get a release date for Disco Elysium (formerly No Truce with the Furies).
You know, I might have a few detective skills of my own, because I think I could feel your heart skipping a beat there. What is this mysterious date, you ask? October 15th is the day Disco Elysium comes out, hopefully shaking the RPG world to its core.
Why am I so excited for this game? Well, for starters, it’s an open world RPG that is not focused on combat, instead going after the elusive “role playing” aspect that is often neglected by other games. Clothes are important, skills are gameplay altering in more ways than I could count, and you can mold your character’s inner bits too, with their “Thought Cabinet”.
Want to be the champion of the people, solving murders and sending criminals to prison? You can. More interested in turning a blind eye to certain illicit activities in exchange for some cash that can buy you more cheap booze to forget your misdeeds? That’s certainly an option as well.
