Jez Corden, Senior Editor for Windows Central, confirmed today that Halo Wars 2 will be released on Steam this year. The real-time strategy game came out on February 21, and most people thought it’d be a Windows Store exclusive. Halo Wars 2 joins its prequel and two arcade spin-offs as the only four Halo titles available on Valve’s digital store.

This news may mark a change on Microsoft‘s strategy of pushing the Windows Store with exclusive releases of their flagship games, although nothing has been confirmed so far and we don’t know if other big releases such as Gears of War 4 or Forza Horizon 3 will make the jump as well or not.
