Dambuster Studios‘ Homefront: The Revolution wasn’t very well received at launch, with critics and users complaining about the game’s lackluster story and performance issues. The developers took the criticism in a good manner, however, and have been working on patches and new content since the game’s release back in May.
Last week, Dambuster Studios released a big update that adds two new missions (Boom Patrol and Indy Forever) and some impressive performance improvements. Yesterday, the game’s publisher announced that Homefront: The Revolution will be free to play on Steam from September 8th to the 11th. Gamers interested in checking out the title can download it from here and any progress made during the trial period will carry over to the full game if they desire to purchase it later.
Both the singleplayer campaign mode and the cooperative Resistance Mode can be played during this weekend’s free period. Gamers who decide that the title is worth a buy can take advantage of a 40% off sale that lasts until September 12, and brings the price down to US$ 23.99.
