Hyper Light Drifter just got a big update that adds support for 60fps gameplay, a Boss Rush mode and a new difficulty setting called Newcomer.
The 60fps mode is in Open Beta, and gamers interested in testing how smooth it feels should opt in on Steam. Please note that right now only Windows users will be able to take advantage of this functionality.
How to access the 60fps beta:
- Right click on Hyper Light Drifter in your Steam Library
- Click on “Properties”
- Click on the “BETAS” tab
- Click the drop down menu and select “next_update”
- Click the “close” button and your game should start updating immediately
The new Boss Rush mode also adds more achievements, and it can be unlocked right after beating the standard game mode.
In addition to the 60fps update and the Boss Rush mode, developers Heart Machine have also released a new difficulty setting for people who wish to play the game at a leisurely pace. This new mode is called Newcomer Mode and gamers won’t be able to unlock all the achievements while playing it, in order to be fair to players who beat the main game in the harder difficulty setting.
Hyper Light Drifter is currently on sale on Steam for US$ 13.39. Gamers interested in taking advantage of this discount should act before September 30.
