Strategy fans rejoice! A 2K Games representative has just confirmed that the team behind the Long War mod for 2012’s XCOM: Enemy Unknown are working on a new modification for XCOM 2.

Pavonis Interactive, the developers of the highly successful Long War mod, became a full fledged indie studio back in 2015 (at that time they were called Long War Studios) and have been working on officially supported XCOM 2 mods since then. Some of their releases include the Alien Pack, the Laser Pack and the Leader Pack, relatively small modifications which offer subtle gameplay tweaks and can be found on the XCOM 2 Steam Workshop page.

The Long War 2 mod has been developed by Pavonis Interactive in partnership with 2K Games and Firaxis. More details will be shared in the coming weeks.
