No Man’s Sky servers will be wiped before launch

In an effort to level the playing field and let everyone start discovering new planets and species at the same time, Hello Games will wipe the discovery servers for their highly anticipated space exploration game. Players with early copies will not lose progress though, as the wipe will only affect the data that was uploaded to the game’s Atlas.

This news comes as more and more players get their hands on No Man’s Sky before launch and will undoubtedly be a source of happiness for those that are still waiting for the game’s official release date, since one of the game’s main selling points is the ability to discover new planets and species, name them and upload that data to the game’s fictional Atlas for all to see.

Here at Gaming on PC we wonder if that means the Colbert Prime planet doesn’t exist anymore.
