Resonator, a small independent studio founded by industry professionals with experience on a wide range of AAA games, will be launching a Kickstarter campaign to fund their new open world action title Anew: The Distant Light on February 14th. A Thunderclap campaign has been set up in order to support the Kickstarter’s launch, and gamers interested in helping out without spending a penny may want to check it out.
Playing as a kid stranded in a remote alien moon, gamers will have to fight, solve puzzles and explore a world that is as beautiful as it is dangerous. The developers cite Metroid, Cave Story and the Souls series as inspiration, and Anew: The Distant Light seems to fit the metroidvania bill to perfection, with a plethora of gameplay altering upgrades to be found, as well as tricky platforming scenarios to be conquered.
