Bethesda Softworks has just released a new trailer for RAGE 2, a surprise sequel to id Software‘s 2011 post-apocalyptic shooter.

Fans of the original RAGE will once again have a chance to experience a post-disaster future where the world is in chaos thanks to an asteroid that decided to wipe out civilization as we know it. Developed by Avalanche Studios and id Software, the sequel to the latter’s last pre-DOOM title will feature a combination of true open world gameplay and tight first person shooter action.

Players will see the world through the eyes of Walker, the last Ranger of the wasteland, a warrior robbed of their home and left for dead in a ruthless post-apocalypse where bloodthirsty gangs rule the road and The Authority controls the last remnants of civilization. Tearing through all our enemies in true id Software fashion, we’ll be able to find all the tools and tech needed to crush the rule of the technocratic Authority once and for all, bringing peace to the wastelands and a real future for humanity.

RAGE 2 should be released on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC in 2019.
