Shenmue I and II were finally released for PC today, and fittingly, we also have news on Shenmue III‘s release date, as Deep Silver and YS Net have just revealed that the highly anticipated sequel will be out for PC and PlayStation 4 on August 27, 2019. If that seems far away, keep in mind that we’ve been waiting for almost two decades, so another year is not that long (who am I kidding, I wish I could wake up in August 2019!).
Shenmue III picks up where the previous game left off, as Ryo Hazuki investigates his father’s murder. Players will get to explore a rich open world, searching for clues and interacting with detailed NPCs along the way, drawn further into enemy territory with each step, and at the same time closer to Ryo’s destiny.
