Gamers longing for the days when hand holding wasn’t as prominent as it is today will be happy to learn that Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 will include a challenge mode that lets us disable the HUD and boosts the enemy’s perception.

CI Games has just released a video showcasing this new mode, with a developer playing through a side op (a secondary mission set in the game’s open world environment) and relying only on his skills to get through it.

“Challenge Mode is one of my favorite features in Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, because of how much importance it places on the skills of the player rather than relying on the game for help,” said Tomasz Pruski, senior level designer at CI Games. “A good example is when using the drone. It will tag the enemies, but once called back, players will need to rely on their memory to remember where the enemies are located inside the outpost. Precisely aimed headshots are also required, since enemies are more heavily armored on their body.”

Sniper Ghost Warrior 3 will be out on PC on April 25, 2017. Gamers who decide to preorder the open world sniping title will be rewarded with a free copy of the Season Pass (valued at US$ 29,99)
