Cardboard Computer revealed today that the fifth (and final) chapter in the Kentucky Route Zero journey will be released on January 28th. Fans of this surreal adventure title have been waiting since 2016 for this moment, so I assume they’ll be thrilled at this news. I have to admit that after playing through the first two episodes and noticing the somewhat uncommon release schedule, I held off on the rest of the available chapters in order to experience the adventure as a complete package down the line. Considering the quality of those first two episodes, I can safely say that I doubt I’ll be disappointed.

Kentucky Route Zero is a magical realist adventure game about a secret highway in the caves beneath Kentucky, and the mysterious folks who travel it.

The game is developed by Cardboard Computer (Jake Elliott, Tamas Kemenczy, and Ben Babbitt), and features an original electronic score by Ben Babbitt along with a suite of old hymns & bluegrass standards recorded by The Bedquilt Ramblers.
