Want to Preload Borderlands 3 on PC? Too Bad, Says the EGS

Update (September 3, 2019): It seems Mr. Sweeney wasn’t up to date on his own store’s capabilities, as 2K says the game will be available for preload 48 hours before its release date, even on PC (EGS). Original story follows.

If you are one of the millions of Borderlands fans eagerly awaiting the third entry in the franchise and you chose to pick it up on PC, then I have bad news for you (unless you have a blazing fast Internet connection). Tim Sweeney confirmed today that the Epic Games Store will not support preloading functionality before Borderlands 3 comes out this September, so you’ll have to wait until the game is fully released before you can start the download (and unless this game breaks the norm, it’s going to be a pretty hefty thing to get through your Internet pipes).
